or, The Hero’s Journey’s Journey

What you need:

A D20

A list of aspects of Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, simplified to comfort.

Step 1. Decide your team size. 

Step 2. Take turns rolling a D20. For each roll, write a scene/chapter corresponding a scene type from the list below:

1. Call to Action
2. Refusal of the Call
3. Supernatural Aid
4. Crossing the Threshold
5. Belly of the Whale
6. The Road of Trials
7. Meeting the Goddess
8. Temptation
9. Atonement with the Father
10. Apotheosis
11. The Ultimate boon
12. Refusal of Return
13. Magic Flight
14. Rescue from Without
15. Crossing the Return Threshold
16. Master of Two Worlds
17. Freedom to Live
18. WILDCARD: A musical number happens
19. WILDCARD: Direct address to the player
20. WILDCARD:  Personal diary entry

Everyone keep record of which number they roll, and in what order. 

Repeated roll numbers are ok. Repeat this for as many scenes as you want there to be in your twine game.

Then, each team member writes a scene using the 2nd person perspective. (You do this, you do that, etc.)

They will be organized in the order in which they are rolled.

Individual scenes can have diversions embedded within them, at designer’s discretion.

Organize the scenes in Twine sequentially based on the previous rolling order, then insert links in words that repeat and are significant (Sword, Puppy, Home, The Moon, etc.)
